Julian is an award winning film editor with over 20 years experience cutting film, television, high-end TV commercials and music videos, having collaborated with the industry's most illustrious and creative best in helping to make many iconic and award-winning films.

After graduating with a Film & Media degree from the University of Stirling, Julian joined the legendary Limelight production company as a runner. After being promoted to in-house editor, he found his passion in editing - vision and sound, often helping out on the great projects of its amazing roster of directors like Steve Barron, John LLoyd and Daniel Kleinman. He then joined edit facility Cut & Run as Steve Gandolfi's assistant where he was able to culture his natural ability of this magical craft.

He went on to cut the acclaimed TV series 'Dossa & Joe' for the great Caroline Aherne, and the BAFTA -nominee TV special 'Victoria Wood With All The Trimmings' directed by John Birkin. He edited the short 'Yours Truly' for Osbert Parker which won several film festival Gold's, and the short 'Minimus' directed by Jonathan Hopkins, and 'Hello Sunshine' directed by Dan Nathan.

An accomplishes editor in the advertising world, he has won many awards for commercial campaigns including Adidas+10, Coors, McDonalds, EDF, Ford, ADOT and Specsavers. He has also created editing magic for the James Bond titles sequence to Spectre.

Julian has sat as juror on various creative bodies including The Creative Circle and D&AD, and he loves adding his intuitive storytelling, creativity and flair to any editing project.

'Being a Bond fan, one of the works I'm most proud of has to be cutting the opening film titles to Spectre, it was totally amazing to be involved in that.'

'There's been many, but my most wonderful job was working with the late great Caroline Aherne, cutting the 6 TV episodes of her Dossa & Joe series for BBC2. I was very fortunate to be able to see first hand, her creative genius at work.'

'Something about me people may not know..I love remote-controlled toys. Every Christmas, usually on the last day of work before the break I used to go to Hamley’s and buy myself one - I now have quite an extensive collection of everything from cars to boats to helicopters to airships. Now that I have kids, Christmas is as good as ever!"
